Did you know that Karma is an ancient Indian concept that refers to an action, work or deed, and its effect or consequences? Often described as a principle of Karma, where a person(s) intent and actions (cause) influence their future (effect). I was talking to a friend the other day and they told me that the bank of Karma has been making them pay lately. They reminded me that it pays to be good. And I want to second that by saying it pays to be a good human in general. Karma has been showing up in folks’ lives in the most disrespectful way. Is it really disrespectful if you brought it on yourself?
Have you ever sat down and thought about why certain things may be going wrong in your life? Things happen because of the choices we make, but I am a firm believer that you reap what you sow. God even speaks about it in His Word. The bible says in Galatians 6:9 to not be deceived as God is not mocked, a man will reap what he sows. In layman terms, what you do to others will come back to you and in some instances, worse than when you did what you did.
So many times, we engage in certain behaviors and like to place blame. I was watching a video on Instagram the other day and the guy was talking about a person who says they will never cheat but they are in a situationship with a married person, or someone who is in a committed relationship. This guy said in his video that the person who said they would never cheat is now a cheater. Now some would disagree with his perception because they feel as if the person who is not in the relationship is doing nothing wrong but think about it. If you know a person is in a relationship and you choose to still go ahead with your situationship isn't that wrong? It’s not like the other person knows about you. Therefore, Karma will come back to bite you in the butt someway or somehow. It really does pay to be a good human. Would you want your person to treat you the way that person is treating their partner?
You know what is wild? You never know how Karma will show up. She (yes, I did say she I truly believe that Karma is a woman with the way she gets back at those who do wrong) might be someone who steals little things from your place of employment. You don't think anything of it as it may just be a pen, some white out or even some paper clips. Then, karma can show up and you eventually get sick and are unable to go to work. You just never know in which way she will get you back, so I say, it pays to be a good human.
I want to encourage you and I to do a self-evaluation on ways we can be a better human in all areas of our lives. Maybe we need to exercise patience when dealing with a loved one. Maybe there‘s someone we are dealing with that we really don't care for, but we hold on to them for selfish reasons, let them go. Whatever it is, you know what you need to do. Make the decision today to be a better version of yourself than you were yesterday and to treat people the way you want to be treated.
